Previous Planning <br />In 1974, an advisory committee was established to develop a plan for <br />this area that would be consistent with the will and make availaL'e to <br />the publ4 a bea-tiful and educational place to visit. The committee <br />developed a concept plan, but due to various problems the plan was never <br />implemented. <br />D. The Current Advisory Committee - 1985 <br />The present Committee was established in October of 1984 in order to <br />complete the task of developing a plan for the park. In regard to this <br />task, the Committee was charged with the following responsibilities: <br />o to advise District staff in the review of the ori;'nal Master <br />Plan for the park. <br />o recommend appropriate chdages in the plan and establish a long <br />term working plan for preservation, improvement and maintenance <br />of the Park. <br />o to recommend appropriate funding strategies for the development <br />of the park according to the plan that the Comn:ittee recommends. <br />The membership of the Committee, in order to represent the various <br />interests associated with the park, included individuals from various <br />t) j <br />
