Berg Hall <br />A) Unable to determine whether footings and foundaton extend below <br />frost line. <br />B) ,:xterior walls - stucco over clay tile blocks - stucco is <br />deteriorating and falling off building. Large cracks on the northwest <br />corner. <br />C) Roof - not completely visible from ground but edges show signs of <br />deterioration. <br />D) Windows and doors - all broken out and wood rot exists on window <br />sills aad jambs. <br />E) Electrical does not conform to national electrical code. <br />F) Exits for mul;:i-residential use do not conform to building or fire <br />code. Second floor exterior exit has been removed. <br />G) Interior has been vandalized and not maintained. <br />RECOMMENDATION - remove structure or provide evidence from a certified <br />structural er-ineer tha+. the building is structurally sound. <br />5. Dining Hall <br />A) Roof needs to be replaced - appears to be damaged. Flashing is <br />improperly installed at dormers. <br />B) Footings and foundations consist of wood hosts. Placement of <br />posts are at ramdom. Posts have been installed as weak spots are <br />found. These post footings in many cases do not extend below frost <br />line. <br />C) Porch crawl space does not meet 18" minimum clearance and is less <br />than 6" in some spots inviting wood rot. <br />D) Stairway main entrance are wood boards. Loose, untreated lumber <br />has been usti and handrails are needed - structurally inadequate. <br />S) Main dining hall must be provided with a fire surpression system <br />(sprinkler). <br />
