Jacobs, Building & Fire Inspector <br />Date: June 8, 1987 <br />Subject: Big Island Veteran's Camp - Big Island <br />Repairs & Removal of Buildings <br />An inspection was conducted on June 4, 1987 of the above subject <br />property by the following: Tom Jacobs, Mike Gaffron, Asst Planning & <br />Zoning Administrator and Tom Anderson, Building Official City of Hopkins, <br />Minnesota. <br />This inspection will be conducted with reference to Exhibit A (map <br />location of buildings). <br />1. CAretakers Cabin <br />A) Is removed. <br />B) Debris cleanup required. <br />2. Boat House <br />A) Footings & Foundation are in a state of disrepair - foundation has <br />fallen over on southeast and southwest currers - cracks throughout. <br />B) Exterior wood stud walls bowed in middle ea:-- wall. <br />C) Structure is leaning to north. <br />D) Electrical - knob and tub wiring. All new electrical installed <br />improperly. <br />E) Needs new roof - existing roof is weathered acid deteriorated. <br />F) Siding - weathered and deteriorated. <br />G) Southwest and southeast corner walls have no support under the.a. <br />RECOMMENDATIO'1 - remove - building r been X'd for demolition. <br />3. Guard House <br />A) 2x4 rafters over spanned (10') - same bowing is present. <br />B1 2x4 studs at 24" o.c. - some leaning is present. South wall <br />leaning to west. <br />C) Footing and foundation - existing consists of wood blocks on top <br />of the grand. <br />
