City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 1988 <br />B) The proposed temporary use of the island will not have <br />an adverse effect upon the lake, unor, e land nor upon <br />neighboring properties. <br />C) Ad-.' ate fire protection shall be provided for overnight <br />campers and during open burn activities. <br />4. The City Council has considered this application including <br />the findings and recommendations of the Planning Commission, <br />reports by staff and comments of the applicant and the effect of <br />the proposed use on the health, safety and welfare of the <br />community. <br />5. The City Council finds that granting a Conditional Use Permit <br />to allow the temporary overnight camping of workers involved in <br />the clean up of t' property will not be detrimental �o the <br />health, safety or general welfare of the public, would not <br />adversely affect light, air nor pose a fire hazard or other <br />danger to neighboring properties, nor will it depreciate <br />surrounding property values and that the proposed temporary use <br />of the property as approved will be in keeping with the intent <br />and oLiectives of the Zoning Code and Comprehensive Plan of the <br />City. <br />CONCLUSIONS, ORDER AND CONDITIONS <br />Based Ripon one or more of the above findings, the Orono City <br />Council hereby grants a temporary Conditional Use Permit per Municipal <br />Zones, y Code Section 10.31, Subdivision 3 ;D) to permit overnight <br />camping of work crews involved in the clean up of the Big Island <br />Veterans' Camp from May 15, 96 through September 1, 1986, subject to <br />the following conditions: <br />1. 'rew to be limited to 57 workers - family members and f-i—ads <br />c ►not be on cacao site I -or the duration of temporary permit <br />2. Workers shall. use portable gas stoves and charcoal gri or <br />cooking - open burning to be approved by fire mar -shall. <br />3. Tenting is allowed only for weekend work crews. <br />authorized caretaner shall be the only p rson to remain o,. <br />site for the duration of the temporary permit. <br />4. The faci 1 ty shall be inspected by the Orono staff on a <br />regular basis during the clean up program. <br />5. Hazardous buildings not removed are to remain boarded up. <br />6. Fire extinquishe-s must be provided on site. <br />7. Septic f aci 1 t i - i and water supply shall be approved ny <br />the Orono stiff.
