Memo #1014 <br />April 17, 1986 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />At the time the Board plans to restore the remaining hazardous st <br />building plans must be submitted to assure that standards of the uniform <br />building cote and state fire code are met. Before the facility can be <br />reopened for public use, the Board must apply for conditional use permits <br />for Day Recreation Camp and Overnight Camping Use. <br />Review of Current Application <br />The City is asked to allow workers to camp overnight on the island <br />during the clean up period. The following issues must be addressed: <br />1 - Approximate number of workers involved in clean up - workers <br />cannot bring family members along because hazardous - unsafe <br />conditions still remain on the site <br />2 - Advise how meals are to be provided - kitchen area and dining hall <br />cannot be used - portable gas stoves and charcoal grills can be used - <br />no recreational or cooking fires allowed. <br />3 - Designate temporary toilet facility to be used - Gaffron to <br />inspect. <br />4 - Remaining hazardous buildings cannot be used for sleeping quarters <br />- tenting allowed only. <br />5 - Hazardous buildings not planned for removal must remain boarded up <br />during clean up. <br />6 - Determine time period request for clean up - permit to be written <br />for specified period of time. <br />7 - Fire extinguishers must be provided on site during clean up <br />period. <br />8 - Provide a repair schedule for hazardous buildings that are to <br />remain <br />9 - How shall garbage collection be provided for at temporary camp <br />site. <br />2 <br />
