COUNCIL ACTION. � <br /> 2.01. The Orono City Council does hereby adopt the following parameters regarding the City's <br /> participation in the building and funding of the new fire station. . <br /> A. The City of Orono hereby agrees to participate in the building of a <br /> facility,not to exceed 20,091 square feet,with a maximum contribution of <br /> $680,000 beyond the amount paid by Mn/DOT, subject to the following <br /> conditions: � <br /> 1. The additional contribution beyond the Mn/DOT funding amount will be <br /> shared among the Cities of Long Lake,Medina, and Orono according to the cost <br /> sharing formula set out in the current Agreement and Contract for Fire Services <br /> between the three cities. <br /> . 2. The Fire Chief and the Architect will participate proactively with <br /> representatives of the three Cities as part of a design and construction team. <br /> 3. The design and construction team will focus on bringing the project in <br /> significantly under budget. � <br /> 4. The Cities of Long Lake,Medina, and Orono will come to an agreement <br /> regarding the ownership of the fire station, and regarding an escrow agreement for <br /> any funds received from Mn/Dot for the fire station,that protects the interests of <br /> the three Cities. <br /> 5. The new fire station will be built on the 340 Willow Drive site in Orono. � <br /> 6. If the final cost of the fire station requires less than the $680,000 funding- � . . <br /> amount from the cities,the amount not needed will be placed into an account � <br /> designated for future major capital equipment replacement for the LLVFD. <br /> � <br /> �� <br />
