INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 278 <br />COMMUNITY EDUCATION <br />POSITION TITLE: Early Childhood and Family Education Coordinator <br />RESPONSIBLE TO: Community Education Girect;r <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />A. Bachelors degree in Child Development, Education or related field, plus a minimum of <br />two years a>-erience. <br />B. Licensure in Early Childhood and/or Parent Education required or willing to take approp- <br />riate course work to become eligible to become licensed as both an Early Childhood Ed- <br />ucator and Pareric Educator or as an Early Childhood Family Educator (new license) and <br />to meet other requirements of the Minnesota State Department of Education. <br />C. Other Qualifications: <br />1. Should possess a working knowledge of the human, technical and conceptual skills <br />necessary to work in the field of Early Childhood Family Education. <br />2. Should possess a working know'tcrd9L of the components of Early Childhood Family <br />Education Programs. <br />3. Should possess knowledge in the following areas: (1) adult learning styles, <br />(2) family systems and structure and function, (3) parent education curriculum, <br />(4) group process and technique, (5) child development and child psychology, <br />(6) parent child relations, (7) infant and toddler development, (8) learning <br />environments and modalities, 19) child health, nutrition and safety, (10) commun- <br />ication skills. <br />D. Should also possess the skill necessary for: needs assessment, identifying resources, <br />budgeting, coordinating, programming, community involvement training, organizing, <br />reading, and managing interpersonal relationships. <br />POSITION SPECIFICS: <br />1. Position to begin immediately. <br />2. Present contract would read: 15 hours per week at $11.00 per hour, until June <br />30, 1986. <br />3. Starting J61y 1, 1986, Coordinator will be working with approximately $23,000.00 <br />budget. <br />4. Hopefully the position will go to 3/4 time. <br />5. Coordinator will be expected to do actual teaching <br />6. Coordina' will work mostly from home. <br />1. Cormninity -ducation will provide clerical duties. <br />8. Office space will be worked out at a later date. <br />9.
