B. <br />1965. In 1979 charge account: (VISA - MasterCard) was <br />added which presently represents about 6% of sales. <br />The largest sales dollar volume for the operation was <br />in 1981 when it reached $473,000 the sales of which <br />also are reached the highest profit of $47,800 or <br />approximately 10% of sales. This was the same year the <br />beer sales arrangement was altered. <br />SIGNIFICANT MARKET CHANGES SINCE INCEPTION <br />Since 1975, the liquor industry has undergone the <br />following changes: <br />1. A dropping of requirement that distribution be <br />through exclusive wholesalers. This has resulted. <br />in a significant reduction in the number of <br />wholesalers and somewhat of an increase in "price <br />competition." <br />2. A general economic downtrun in the economy in both <br />the mid -seventies and again in the early 80's (85 <br />and 83). This has been reflected in sales. <br />3. A change in the consumption habits of the public <br />with many people reducing individual consumption <br />because: <br />a) Increased eduction in prevention and recovery <br />b) Stricter drunk driving la-s <br />c) The high consumption aye group, 19-25, is <br />becoming considerably smaller (the baby boom rs are <br />now entering their early to mid-30's) <br />In additon to the liquor industry changes the local market <br />which in 1963 consisted primarily of the following <br />municipal stores. <br />Mound <br />Tonka Bay (maybe out of business within yeas) <br />WayZa','.a <br />Excelsior (went private 5 years ago) <br />Long Lake (went private 8-10 years ago) <br />since 1963 the following have been additions to the <br />competition: <br />Bottle Basket (1967) <br />Green House/Spring Park <br />Marina Liquor/Spring <br />Country Grocery (1985) <br />(1983) <br />Park (next to Town 6 <br />
