SICK I.SAYS <br />1. £ligibity for si_-k )save is authorized absence from duty with <br />pay, granted to regular employees who meet certain requirements. <br />Sick leave is not to be used at the discretion of the employee. <br />Sick leave shall be allowed only in case of necessity and actual <br />need as explained below. 411 regular full-time empi,�yees shall <br />accumulate eight fB) hours of paid sick leave per month, not to <br />exceed a total of nine hundred sixty (460; hours. <br />2. Siok leave shall not be earned by any employee daring a leave <br />of absence without pay, suspensi:,n or time otherwise not worked or <br />paid or otherwise not .ompensated, which exceeds ten (10) workini <br />days. <br />3. Administration of Sick Leave. The following procedures wi:l <br />be followed in administering the sick leave policy of the City: <br />a. The use of sick leave will be pr:,rated in units of not <br />less than one (1) heir. <br />After all accrued sick leave is used, va atton leave may <br />be deed, anri payment made therefor, to the extent the <br />employee is entitled to such leave, but in no case shall <br />the erpioyee _ake more than the accrued balance of the <br />two. <br />c. Sick leave will be allowed in casa of persona: illness, <br />necessary medical appointments or physical incapacity of <br />an employee.
