ORDINANCE: NUMBER 1-1, SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 5.25 SI10WS AND LAk(;E: ASSEMBLIES <br />AND 5.08 PARADES AND SPECIAL EVENTS <br />The City Council of Orono Ordains As Follows: <br />(:hapter 5.25 and 6.08 of the Municipal Code of Orono is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br />PARADES AND SPECIAL. EVENTS <br />Subd. 1. Definition. The term "Parade" mF>ac:s any <br />movement of vehicles, persons or animals, or any combination <br />thereof, which either moves together and as a body so as to in <br />some way impede or affect the free and unobstruced f low of <br />vehicular or pedestrian traffic, or which moves so that some part <br />thereof is in violation of one or more traffic laws or <br />regul:`.ions, if such movemenmt is without a permit hereunder. <br />Subd. 2. Definition. The term "special event" means <br />any mar,.. hon runs, block parites, fishing contests, parachute <br />jumps, hot-air balloon events, carnivals, or any other activity <br />or -vents which in some way impede or affect the free and <br />obsL.ucted flow of vehicular or pedestrian traff'- --generate <br />parking needs f.or more than 20 vehicles off site y one time <br />on residential streets not including public ac:ce5ues to Laic <br />Minnetonka or requires pasting "No Parking„ to maintain <br />compliance, so that some part thereof is in violation of one or <br />more traffic laws or regulations, if such event is without a <br />permit hereunder. <br />1. 3. Permit Requ i red. 1 t isa misdemeanor to <br />sponsr)* ticipate in a parade or special event for which no <br />permit: on o'tained from the City, and it is also a <br />misdemear._ btain a parade permit or special event permit and <br />not condc,c same in accordance with the permit granted by the <br />City. r,P,?I ion for such permit shall be made to the City at <br />least sixty Q0) days in advanca of the date on which it is to <br />occur _unieg s waived by the Council, and shall state the <br />sponsoring orya-ization or individual, the route or location, the <br />length, the e� 4mate:l time of commencement and termination, the <br />3ene r a .l. composition, and such app 1 i cla t i on shall be executed by <br />the individuals applying `herefor or the d,ly authorized agent or <br />representative of the sponsoring or;:_lanizat n. This shall apply <br />in addition to any lirensin, e uirements under Section 5.25 of <br />this o r d i n a n c- i-! <br />Subd. 4.
