SAFE'ry /i SSUE <br />- Jurisdiction <br />- Enforcement <br />- Sheriff <br />- Prosecution <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />-The following represent recommendations regarding <br />various issues in front of the Council for both present and <br />future consideration. <br />1. North Shore Drive - It is recommended that: <br />a.) Staft work with residents to continuc to monitor <br />the problems that are 6 to 8 times out of the year. <br />b.) That the City not commit those reserved slots <br />with LMCD until such time as there is a demonstrated <br />need for additionally committed parkin(; contigent on <br />other community's commitments and appropriate <br />geographic distribution of access. <br />2. Public Access - That the City in conjunction with <br />the Metropolitan Council and other lake communities work <br />to aFsist in the public access siting to the extent that <br />additional sites for boating distribution purp,.)ses are <br />appropriate for both distribution and parking. <br />Additionally it is recommended that the Council <br />encourage adequate parking spots be obtained near the <br />Mound site. <br />3. Look for Additional NFimk F_ ow •`-'s <br />a.) Private access <br />b.) Evaluate current ramp use and parking at those <br />sites <br />4. BOATING WHILE INTOXICATED Work and encoura,je LMCD <br />and Legislatures to bass appropriate legislation, at least for <br />LakE Minnetonka, to make it a managable situation. <br />5. Jurisdiction - In accordance with enabling <br />legislation for LMCD have Orono enter into a contract to Enforce <br />the applicablo ordinAnces that itt desires to enforce with the <br />'.MC t3 . <br />6.
