City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />t <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBITVISION 2 <br />PILE #964 <br />WHEREAS, Stephen & Jan Watson (hereinafter "the <br />applicant", eras an interest in the property located at 880 <br />Partenwo.:.z Road within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and <br />legally described as follows: <br />Lot 6, Block 1, Partenwood, Hennepi:. •ounty, Minnesota; <br />(hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for a <br />variance to Mu.'cipal Zoning Code Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 to <br />permit the construction of an addition to the existing house, <br />which addition constitutes 1585 square feet of hardcover in the <br />75-250' setback zone, and proposing the concurrent removal of <br />1635 square feet of existing hardcover in the 7 50' setback <br />zone, for a net decrease of 50 square feet of cover, or <br />reducing from the existing 7137 square feet (3. %) to 7087 <br />square feet (38.8%) i,i the 75-250' setback z(•ne where y 25% <br />hardcover is normally allowed. <br />Did, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />Orono, Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #964. <br />2. The property � located in the LR-1B Single Family <br />Lakeshore ' isit:r�nti, Zoning District. <br />3. The .o Planning Commission reviewed this application <br />on September 16, 1985, and recommended approval of the <br />proposed variance based , )on the following findings: <br />A) Applicant is proposing a net reduction in hardcover <br />by removing portions of the existing asphalt driveway. <br />B) Over half the lot is within the 0-75' setback zon.-, <br />hence for the given lot area of 0.88 acre, the property <br />is allowed relatively little har-icover compared to most <br />other similar lots in the LR 1E' zoning district. <br />.fie 1 of 4 <br />
