A RESOLUTION ADOI'•fi`G AND CONFIIC-LING ASSESSMENTS FOR STREET LI(JITING
<br />IMPROVI.`IENT 1970SI.-1
<br />NOW, THLIZEFORE, BE I1' RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL. OF Till:
<br />VILLAGE OF ORONO, MINNIiSOTA:
<br />1. The amount proper and necessary to be specially assessed
<br />at this time for the Street Lighting Improvement 1970SL-1, (said
<br />improvement for convenience has been designated n the assessment roll
<br />as Street Lighting 1970SL-1) against every asseslable lot, piece or
<br />parcel of land affected thereby has been duly calculated upon the basis
<br />of benefits, without regard to cash valuation, in accordance with the
<br />provisions of Minnesota Statutes', Chapter 429,"and notice has been duly
<br />published, as required by law, that this Council would meet to hear,
<br />consider and pass upon all objections, if any, and said propose.
<br />assessment roll has at all times since its filing been open for public
<br />inspection, and an opportunity has been given to all interested persons
<br />to present their objections, if any, to such proposed assessments.
<br />2. This Council, having heard and considered all objections
<br />so presented, and being fully advised in the premises, has amended the
<br />proposed assessment as it deemed just, and it finds that each of the
<br />lots, pieces and parcels of land enumerated in the proposed assessment
<br />roll, amended, was,and is"specially benefited by the installation and
<br />maintenance of said improvement in not less than the amount of ,he
<br />amended assessment set opposite the description of each such lot,
<br />piece and parcel of land, respectively, and such amount so set out
<br />is hereby levied against each of the respective lots, pieces and
<br />parcels of land therein described.
<br />3. The proposed assessments as amended, a copy of which is
<br />attached hereto and made a part Lereof, are hereby adopted and
<br />confirmed as the proper special assessments for each of said lots,
<br />pieces and parcels of land respectively, and the assessment against
<br />each parcel, shall be a lien concurrent with general taxes upon
<br />such parcel and all thereof. The total amount of each such assessment
<br />shall be payable in one installment to be payable with general taxes
<br />for the year 1971, payable in 1971.
<br />4. For years after December 31, 1971, :o-nual benefits
<br />arising from the maintenance of the improvement Mill be assessed, on
<br />a calendar year basis, with payment to be made with the general
<br />taxes payable in the year for which the assessment will be levied.
<br />S. Prior to certification of the assessment as amended
<br />to the County Auditor,the owner of any lot, piece or parcel of land
<br />assessed hereby may at any time pay the whole of such assessment to
<br />the County Treasurer.
<br />6. The Clerk -Administrator shall, soon as may be,
<br />prepare and transmit to the County Auditor a certified duplicate
<br />of the amended assessment roll, with each unpaid assessment set forth
<br />separately, to be extended upon the proper tax lists of the County,
<br />and the County Auditor shall thereafter collect said assessments
<br />in the manner provided by law.
