MINUTES ON THE REGULAR ORS. _il. MEETING AUGUST 12, 1985. PAGE I l CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: CRIME PREVENTION FUND It was moved by Councilmember Adams, seconded by Mayor Butler, to approve appointment of five people to serve as charter board members for the Orono Crime Prevention Fund as submitted and recommended by staff. Motion, Ayes (3), Nays (0). LEAF COMPOSTING It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember Adams, to accept staffs recommendation to Proceed with the proposed leaf composting program. Motion, Ayes (3), Nays (0). BIG ISLAND VETERAN'S CAMP City Administrator Bernhardson submitted Resolutions for hazardous building proceedings for all the buildings on Big Island, and recommended the Council adopt them. Mr. Joe Backes, a Big Island property owner, and Mr. Jim Lund, representing the Veterans of Foreign Wars, were present for this matter. Mr. Lund requested the Council to postpone filing the resolutions with District Court because joint efforts are being n ie by the Board of Governors and State to bring these hazardous buildings into compliance. Mr. Lund stated that they are working on the funding at this time. City Administrator Bernhardson recommended tabling this matter for two weeks based on Mr. Lund's information and to avoid unnecessary court costs. It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember Frahm, to adopt staff's recommendation to table this matter for two weeks. Motion, Ayes (3), Nays (0). CONTRIBUTION REQUEST WEST ARM TREATMENT City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed his memo dated August q, 1985 regarding a contribution request for treatn.,:nts of West Arm. Staff has recommended this item be tabled indefinitely.
