MEMNN <br />!UL 2' 1335 <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />`Il CiTw OF OROf10 <br />FROM: Mack Bernhardson, City Administrato <br />DATE: July 18, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: North Shore Drive Parking Status <br />As you are aware the City together with the residents have been <br />monitoring and recording problems that have occurred along North <br />Shore Drive during the summer particularly on weekends and <br />holidays. There has been acme indication of trespassing, some <br />moderate use of the packing spots on the good weekends together <br />with some packing of vehicles and trailers just off curbing on <br />the sand/grass. Although there 1,av been some minor <br />confontations between residents and tresp:.ssers there does not <br />appear at this time to be significant pede stria,Aicycle problems <br />that have been reported as accidents or near accidcnts. <br />As you are aware we will be bringing the issue of commitment to <br />LMCD parking spots back to you on August 24 and we would like to <br />bring this issue at that time. <br />At this time the proposed avenues to attempt ameliorate the <br />existing problems will include parts or combinations of the <br />following: <br />- Acceptable (fencing) by private residences between the <br />road and the beach <br />- Possible asphalt curbing <br />- Nestripping to provide pedestrian bikeway passes <br />- Use of a dock off the fire access for loading and <br />unloading of passengers <br />- Appropriate signage <br />Should you have further questions or comments please feel free to <br />contact me. <br />
