City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION ORDERING AIIATFMFNT OF <br />HAZARDOUS HUII.DING ACTION AT BIG ISLAND <br />VFTERAN' S CAMP -- DINING IIALL <br />WHERFAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation <br />organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br />WHERF.AS, State of Minnesota, Centenial Building, St. Paul, <br />Minnesota 55102, is the fee owner of record of property located at Big <br />Island Veteran's Camp, Orono, Minnesota, herein referred to as Big <br />island Veteran's Camp, and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 2 Unplatted 23-117-23 21 0001 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono, having duly <br />cons;dered the matter pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Sections 463.15 <br />to 463.:,61, hereby finds that the above described Dining Hall is <br />unhabiti,bl.e and contains unsanitary and hazardous conditions which <br />constitute a public nuisance and which makes this property hazardous <br />to the Fublic health, safety and welfare based on the following <br />findings: <br />1. Improper footings and foundation. <br />2. Improper exits for assembly area and doors swing <br />improperly. <br />3. Improper fire separation between kitchen and assembly <br />area (dining hall). <br />4. Improper fire separation between storage and other areas <br />within the building. <br />5. Door knobs missing from emergency exit doors. <br />6. Electrical wiring is in a state of disrepair and is a <br />potential fire hazard. Multiplug adapters and <br />extension cords used for permanent wiring. <br />7. Stairs to the F luth entrance is in a state of disrepair. <br />8. Illuminated exit signs are not provided. <br />9. Fire extinguishing systum fc.,r commeicia1 cooking <br />equipmentis not provided. <br />10.
