Pillsbury <br />Minnetonka <br />representatives of the MDNR about over -flow car -trailer spaces <br />Robert E Slocum <br />actually used today vs. the need for long-term space meeting <br />cer- <br />Woodland <br />Richard! Soderberg <br />tain basic requirements, determined that the MDNR standard of <br />one <br />victoria <br />car -trailer space per 20 acres of water (700 for the La,-,-) <br />was <br />Carl H Weisser <br />Excelsior <br />reasonable for Lake Minnetonka In addition it determined <br />that <br />those spaces already meeting these standards could be supplemented <br />by other near -by parking that also meet these standards when set <br />aside specifically for the use of the boating public. <br />The District has developed these standards which the MDNR has ac- <br />cepted for the use of the lakeshore municipalities who wish to <br />participate in the program by designating long-term car -trailer <br />parking spaces on a seasonal basis near existing public launciiing <br />facilities. These spaces may not be restricted by a permit <br />process. <br />These spaces, when accepted under the standards, will be applied <br />toward the 700 spaces required and wall be used to help determine <br />the need for development of further public access on the Lake. <br />The District has been charged with the responsibility to monitor <br />the program. <br />Thank you for your consideration.
