COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 2 81985 <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />TO: Mayor and Council <br />FROM: Mark Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />DATE: May 23, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Kurt Erickson Indemnification <br />As noted in the attached letter from Tom Radio we are <br />recommending indemnification of Kurt Erickson in the matter <br />lawsuit including punitive damages for Craig Quiggle. Based on <br />the facts as we know them in the reports at this time, and have <br />no reason to doubt officer Erickson's behavior in the matter <br />was appropriate and within procedures and guidelines and see no <br />basis for punitive damage. It is recommended that this <br />resolution be adopted as noted in Tom Radio's letter this will <br />assist in preparation of defense particularly as it relates to <br />cooperation of the individual defendent. <br />Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact <br />me. <br />
