ORONO COMMUNITY EDUCATION <br />ADVISORY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />CMAY 23, 1985 <br />The Oronc Community Educt,,it Advisory Council Meeting was <br />called to order by Doug Pot'_, vice-chairman, on May 23, 1985 <br />at 8:00 pm. <br />Members Present: Nancy Shaver, Telleene Perkins, Carol Allen, <br />Cindy Trudell, Sharon Guimond, Marie Gorman, Tim Hultmann, <br />Doug Potter, Mary Gerding, Karen Theis, Sarah Norris, and <br />Brian Bergstrom. <br />Members Absent: Charlyn Cadwell, Jean Cashmore, Ron Gilbert, <br />Roger Hackbarth, Robin Hoseth, Ray Pregl, and Toni Bergland. <br />Minutes <br />A-ibTION was made by Telleene Perkins, 2nd by Nancy Shaver <br />to accept the minutes as written. The MOTION CARRIED. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Spring Classes <br />r alnfianded out a final report on Spring Classes. <br />B�Ldgget <br />Tne proposed budget that the budget committee prepared was <br />presented to the council. Discussion took place. A MOTION <br />was made by Mary Gerding, 2nd by Marie Gorman to pass the <br />budget. The MOTION CARRIED. The budget will be sent to the <br />School Board for their approval. <br />Band Lessons <br />Fri —an reported that band registration has been going better <br />than in past years. Only 5 have not paid yet. <br />Bike Rodeo <br />r a9i n end —Mary Gerding reported of Bike Rodeo that West <br />Hennepin Public Safety, the Maple Plain Lions, and Orono <br />Community Education sponsored. We had around 65 children <br />participate. Sheely's Wheel Air Control Team performed a <br />free -style demonstration. A raffle was held at the end of <br />the rodeo. Prizes were donated by Maple Plan family Center, <br />Maple Plain Dairy Queen, Swenson's Hardware, Orono Community <br />Education, and a BMX bike donated by Sheely's Wheels. Brian <br />was quite pleased with the results of the rodeo. <br />Tattle Tails <br />r iaH-' n reported that the Tattle Tails Bike Safety flags are <br />here. Brian asked for ideas on how to sell them. It was <br />deciied to sell them at the area playgrounds during the summer <br />at the Long Lake Corn Days celebration, and Carol Allen volun- <br />teered to bring some to the area marinas. <br />Multi -State Conference <br />rran6" asFe_di many one was interested in going to the Multi - <br />State Conference at Madden's Resort. Carol Allen and Sharon <br />Guimond troth were interested in going. <br />
