ORONO COMMUNITY EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL MINUTES CMAY 23, 1985 The Oronc Community Educt,,it Advisory Council Meeting was called to order by Doug Pot'_, vice-chairman, on May 23, 1985 at 8:00 pm. Members Present: Nancy Shaver, Telleene Perkins, Carol Allen, Cindy Trudell, Sharon Guimond, Marie Gorman, Tim Hultmann, Doug Potter, Mary Gerding, Karen Theis, Sarah Norris, and Brian Bergstrom. Members Absent: Charlyn Cadwell, Jean Cashmore, Ron Gilbert, Roger Hackbarth, Robin Hoseth, Ray Pregl, and Toni Bergland. Minutes A-ibTION was made by Telleene Perkins, 2nd by Nancy Shaver to accept the minutes as written. The MOTION CARRIED. OLD BUSINESS Spring Classes r alnfianded out a final report on Spring Classes. B�Ldgget Tne proposed budget that the budget committee prepared was presented to the council. Discussion took place. A MOTION was made by Mary Gerding, 2nd by Marie Gorman to pass the budget. The MOTION CARRIED. The budget will be sent to the School Board for their approval. Band Lessons Fri —an reported that band registration has been going better than in past years. Only 5 have not paid yet. Bike Rodeo r a9i n end —Mary Gerding reported of Bike Rodeo that West Hennepin Public Safety, the Maple Plain Lions, and Orono Community Education sponsored. We had around 65 children participate. Sheely's Wheel Air Control Team performed a free -style demonstration. A raffle was held at the end of the rodeo. Prizes were donated by Maple Plan family Center, Maple Plain Dairy Queen, Swenson's Hardware, Orono Community Education, and a BMX bike donated by Sheely's Wheels. Brian was quite pleased with the results of the rodeo. Tattle Tails r iaH-' n reported that the Tattle Tails Bike Safety flags are here. Brian asked for ideas on how to sell them. It was deciied to sell them at the area playgrounds during the summer at the Long Lake Corn Days celebration, and Carol Allen volun- teered to bring some to the area marinas. Multi -State Conference rran6" asFe_di many one was interested in going to the Multi - State Conference at Madden's Resort. Carol Allen and Sharon Guimond troth were interested in going.
