Crime Rate Statistics - As you will note in the attached <br />statistics regarding Orono's 1983 and 1984 crimes and crime <br />r,:e that was ov',lished in the Minneapolis Star and Tribune <br />it was indi ed that Orono's rime rate dropped <br />approximately between 1983 and 1984. As you will also <br />note that Long Lake and Minnetonka Beach went up <br />substantially. Since these statistics for crime rate are <br />based on 100,000 population, communities with small <br />populations can have one or two incidents affect their rate <br />either way which is particularlly true for the three smaller <br />communities served by Orono police. Chief Kilbo has <br />prepared background information which is available for the <br />local newspapers regarding those statistics should they <br />desire to use them. North Shore Marina - Set -back Letter - As noted in the <br />attached le` `er from Mr. Mixa it is nr his interpretation <br />that North bore will have to com n for a variance <br />regardless ,t the a•, eement he has with _he neighbors. <br />#37. Hennepin County VoTech - A letter has been transmitted to <br />the VoTech regarding preliminary items from the City <br />regarding the Conditional Use should the road go across <br />their 0 properties together wits► formally indicating to <br />them *h ged to work through Medina for sewer. Highway 12 Corridor Study - Jean Mabusth and myself met with <br />John Shardl ow on Monday to discuss the process he had laid <br />out and to discuss items Gaff could do and items the <br />consultant could do together with dividing the study into <br />phases and getting ice n each of those phases bcsed on <br />our discussions. anticipated he shOLIld be back this <br />next week with 3 revised plan inu:�_ating the approximate <br />cost per phase aac' w, vi l l bring this to you at the July 8th <br />meeting. <br />
