Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />Date: June '7, 1985 <br />Subject: 1984 Financial Statement - City of Orono <br />Attached, please find the following received this week from <br />Pannell, Kerr 6 Forster: <br />a) Letter addressing publication requirements and manager <br />operations. <br />b) 1984 Financial Statement <br />As Tom Kuehn will be on vacation for the next few weeks, we <br />have requested the auditor be present for discussion with the <br />Council at the July 8, 1985 meeting. <br />At a time when auditing firms nationally have become signi- <br />ficantly more cautious in rendering opinions due to isolated yet <br />significant problems in the auditing of selected priva.e sector <br />firms, an "unqualified" opinion (although no guarantee of a <br />problem -free financial future) reflects well on the excellent <br />efforts of both Council and staff in prudent financial manage- <br />ment. I would like to specifically recognize Tom Kuehn for an <br />expert job of financial accounting and administration together <br />with the very capable efforts of Joanne Lattin and Charlotte <br />Knutson. <br />Should you have any significant questions or comments that <br />you would like addressed by the auditor on July 8th, please let <br />me know. <br />cc: Personnel Files <br />
