MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING FEBRUARY 20, 1990 <br />#1498 JOHN MCDOWELL CONT. <br />Mr. Olsen replied '-hat there are currently horses in the <br />barn. <br />Kelley asked if Lot 7 will meet the area requirements to <br />maintain horses on the property? <br />Mr. Olsen replied that if the barn is to remain, it would be <br />used for storage; not li.estock. <br />Mr. Sathre said that soil testing has not been done. <br />With regard to access, Mr. Sathre said that they would like <br />to keep the "country lane" character that exists in Orono. The <br />access they are showing is +-tie same location of the Olsen's <br />driveway. He said that Hennf r. County has indicated that they <br />prefer that access. <br />Kelley indicated that the proposal looks fine, with the <br />exception of a possible outlot being included for future <br />expansion to the south <br />Mabusth asked if the Planning Commission would like to see a <br />future access to the west provided. <br />Kelley asked the Planning Commission for their opinions <br />regarding the configuraton of Lot 6. <br />Mr. Sathre said that he tried to locate the road on the <br />highest ground to provide natural walkout sites. He said <br />normally he would have designed Lot 6 differently, but due to <br />there being a different property owner for Lot 7 he is proposing <br />to locate the property line as shc,wn. <br />Mr. Peter Rennebohm, 4565 BaysidP Road, said that he just <br />recently purchased his home and is sorry to see this subdivision <br />occur. He said that lie is concerned about the proposed southern <br />access. <br />Mr. Armstrong replied that his mother is the owner of the <br />property to the south and when it is subdivided, access will be <br />necessary. <br />Hanson added that it is a policy of Orono to have minimum, <br />external connections to streets and maximum internal ;rivate <br />development of road systeins. <br />Brown added that the pLr-jt,3e of the policy is to minimize <br />the number of curb cuts onto collector roads. <br />14 <br />
