TO: City Council <br />to- A lotETIN6 <br />FROM: Thomas J- Jacobs, Building & Fire Inspector <br />LATE: April 4, 1985 APR <br />SUBJECT: Big Island Vets Camp 1 WINO <br />On April 4, 1985, I testified at the State Legislature Subcommittee on <br />the status of the Big Island Veteran's Camp. A summary of my testimony <br />and the City's position concerning the Vets Camp is in the attached <br />report. <br />I would recommend that the City start condemnation proceedings as soon <br />as possible on the structures in order to bring the Vets Camp into <br />conformance with the State Building and Fire Codes, and that the camp <br />remain officially closed until the camp is brought into conformance. <br />
