PROCEEDINGS SUMMARY, 1992 LAKE ACCESS TASK FORCE STUDY <br />3. Marinas as potential access sites were recommended to be examined for public <br />access use under the following conditions: <br />a. Potential use of extending existing capacity. <br />b. Extent to which the marina already serves the public for fee pai4 access. <br />c. Attitude of nearby homeowners for public access use. <br />d. Considering any public access use as a temporary trial. <br />e. Management issues to be addressed such as how public parking/launch <br />space would be reserved and accounted for in a mix of fee paidlaunch <br />service <br />f. MN DNR budget constraints in funding leased space <br />LMCD LAKE ACCESS COMMITTEE ACTION <br />Lake Access Committee action taken 5/7/93: <br />1. The Lake Access Parking Agreement with the City of Minnetrista was accepted <br />and recommended to the LMCD board for acceptance. <br />LAKE ACCESS TASK FORCE MEETING ACTIONS <br />Lake Access Task Force actions taken 5/12/93: <br />1. The seven potential access sites were accepted as identified by the Access <br />Siting Subcommittee 5/4/93. <br />2. Marina sites having potential to accommodate public access through agreement <br />with the DNR will be considered separately from the seven potential access <br />sites accepted 5/4/93. The six conditions under which marina sites ;would be <br />evaluated for public access as detailed by the Access Siting Committee 5/4/93 <br />were also accepted. <br />3. The Maxwell Bay access site is recognized as in negotiations between the City <br />of Orono and MN DNR. <br />LMCD LAKE ACCESS COMMITTEE ACTIONS <br />Lake Access Committee action of 6/15/93 approved tasks which the LMCD committee intends <br />to continue processing: <br />1. Determine the equitable distribution of public access among existing and <br />potential, new access sites. <br />2. Evaluate and negotiate with commercial marinas for their potential in providing <br />c/t parking and launch service: <br />a. Apply equitable distribution criteria. <br />b.
