She indicated that the state energy code is a minimum standard, <br />and the state office has encouraged builders to go beyond the code. <br />Community energy grants are available from the State for the planning <br />and implementation of energy projects. She stressed that it is extremely <br />important to negotiate within local utilities in order to make use of <br />CIP funding (Conservation Investment Program). It is imperative to get <br />local government involved in this effort. <br />There was substantial interest among those present regarding the Community <br />Energy Grant Program, and it was decided to make this the focus of the <br />next meeting. Susan indicated that she could rrrange for a speaker from <br />the state office. West Hennepin agreed to serve as host for the next <br />meeting on February 28. <br />The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:30 a.m. <br />Thomas J.
