C. Ludwig Applications <br />DEADLINE FOR C.0 LUDWIG NOMINATIONS IS MARCH 15! <br />Please note that only five weeks remain before the deadline for <br />submission of nominations for the 1985 C. C. Ludwig Award for <br />Distinguished Municipal Service. All LMC member cities were sent <br />application forms along with instructions and guidelines for <br />submitting nominations. All local Chambers of Commerce and League <br />of Women Voter units were also notified of the award process. <br />If your city expects to nominare a city official for the '85 award, <br />please submit the nomination form and supporting materials by March 15. <br />Notify me if you know that the complete nomination will not be ready <br />by that date. An extension may be granted if the application is in <br />final preparation by that date. <br />Selection of officials to review nominations will commence as soon as <br />possible after March 15, and the selection of award winner(s) will be <br />made prior to the 1985 LMC Annual Conference in June. The decision <br />regarding announcement of award nominees will be made at the time of <br />the nomination decision. In recent years, that decision has not been <br />announced until the time of the award during the conference in order <br />to heighten the expectation and significance of the award presentation. <br />If that procedure is followed again this year, the city (or cities) <br />whose nominee(s) is(are) selected will be notified so that the <br />official(s) to be honored can be encouraged to be at the conference <br />(while attempting to keep notice of the award decision a secret from <br />them and from other city officials). Cities whose nominees are not <br />selected for the award will receive notification of the decision after <br />the conference under the current procedure. <br />If you have questions about notification or other aspects of the <br />procedures, please contact me.
