TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: <br />STREET C09TTRUffION & MAINTENANCE MATERIALS <br />DEFINITION: The purpose of these specifications is to take competitive <br />bids or —the furnishing and hauling of street construction and <br />maintenance materials to and for the City of Orono. Furnished <br />materials are to be bid at the source, and delivered materials are to be <br />placed in the City where indicated by qualified representatives of the <br />City. No estimate of quantities is available and the City does not <br />guarantee to purchase any minimum quantity. <br />MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SPECIFICATIONS: References to <br />MnDot shall indirate the standard specification for highway <br />construction by the Minnesota Department of Transportation dated <br />,January 1, 1919. <br />AGGREGATE SPECIFICATIONS: Class 5 gravel base and class 5 recycled <br />blacktop Gravel base shall meet MnDot specifications 3138. <br />METHOD OF PAYMENT: Payment shall be made by one of the following <br />methods <br />(1) Price per ton loaded into City trucks by contractor at his pit. <br />(2) Price of material per ton delivered to Orono in contractor's <br />trucks. <br />BITUMINOUS PLANT MIX: Bituminous plant mix shall conform to MnDot <br />Specification 7lI1 w-1th BA-2 aggregate or MnDot specification 2341 <br />with BA-1 aggregate. <br />METHOD OF PAYMENT: Payment shall be made at the bid price per ton at the <br />p— a�dv el � ereTto the site of the works, or placed on the street with <br />contractor's paver, rollers, trucks and crew. (work and equipment <br />shall conform to MnDot Specifications 2331.) No extra payment shall <br />be paid 'or bitumen in the mix. <br />BITUMINOUS MATERIALS: MC 30, 70, 250, 800--RC 250, 800 and CRS-1, <br />CRS-2biE—umnousmaterials shall conform to the requirements of MnDot <br />specifications 3151. <br />METHOD OF PAYMENT: Payment shall be made on the price per gallon of <br />materTaTat—K0—o-V—., delivered to the site or delivered and placed on the <br />road with a proper distributor. <br />ASPHALT MATERIALS: The contractor shall submit a bid price on the <br />proposal wwcch—shall be based upon a certified refinery dock price of <br />bitumen plus installation for the bid date.
