FEASIBILITY REPORT SUPPLEMENT
CRYSTAL BAY SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS
DISCUSSION: This Supplement to the feasibility report for the Crystal Bay
sanitary sewer improvements has been prepared to outline a more economical
plan for constructing the project. The Report supplement provides for the
placement of sanitary sewer lines on easements in several areas to shorten the
length of line constructed and minimize the street reconstruction costs.
The layout of the sanitary sewer lines proposed in this report are shown
on the attached plan. Placement of the sanitary sewer lines on easements will
require the close cooperation of the residents or the project costs could
exceed that outlined in the original feasibility report. Easements will also
to required for the placement of services to the individual homes.
This supplement also provides for a reduction in the street section. The
original report provided for a 28 foot wide street with berm curbs in
accordance with the City zoning code. This report supplement provides for the
replacement of only those streets disturbed by construction. The disturbed
streets would he reconstructed to a 16 foot width whir, is similar to the
existing section. The report also eliminates the sod from the project with
all areas disturbed being seeded.
COST ZSTIMATE: The summary of project costs are outlined below with the
detailed cost estimates provided at the back of this report. The cost
estimates are based on unit prices for the 1985 construction season.
The coat estimates presented below include a 5 percent allowance for
contingencies and a 25 percent allowance for project design, administrative,
bonding, capitalised interest, and legal costs.
- 1 -
0-485 7c
