Memo #84-60 <br />page 2 of 2 <br />REVENUE SHARING SECTION 504 GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE <br />The following grievance procedu i is established to neat the <br />requirements of the Revenue Sharing Act as amended. The grievance <br />procedure should be used by any individual (except job applicants) who <br />wishes to file a complaint :.11eging discrimination on the bz s of <br />handicap in employment practices and policies or the provision of <br />programs, sefvices and benefits by the City of Orono. <br />The grievance should be in written form and contain as much information <br />as possible about the alleged discrimination. Other arrangements for <br />submission of a grievance such as a personal interview or tape <br />recording will be made available for the visually -impaired or those <br />with motor impairments. it snuuld be sumbitted within 30 calendar <br />days of the alleged violation to Tom Kueha, Program Coordinator, P.O. <br />Box 66, Crystal Say, '44 55323, Phone Number (612)473-7358, Office <br />Hours: 3:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. (This is the individual who has been <br />designated to be responsible for coordinating of forts to com;)ly with <br />the handicapped discrimination requirements.) <br />Within 15 working days of receipt of the complaint, the Program <br />Coordinator will respond in writing (or a method understood by the <br />complainant) to the complainant. The response will offer a <br />resolution or explain the position of the City of Orono with respect to <br />the complaint. <br />if the response by the Prog , n Coordinator is not suf f icient or ..oes not <br />satisfactorily resolve tie issue, the complainant may request a <br />hearing within 15 working days of the response before the Orono City <br />Council, P.O. Sox 66, Crystal gay, nA 55323, Phone Number (612)473- <br />7358, Office Hours: 3:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. for resolution. Within 30 <br />calendar days of the hearing, the complainant will receive the final <br />resolution in writing (or a method understood by the complainant) as <br />proposed by the Orono City Council. <br />All complaints received by the Program Coordinator and responses from <br />the Orono City Council will be kept by the City of Orono for a period of <br />three years. These documents may be requested by the Office of <br />Revenue Sharing should an investigation into alleged discrimination <br />on the basis of handicapped status be initiated. <br />
