Jacobs, Building official <br />DATE: July 19, 1983 <br />SUBJECT: 3536 Lyric Avenue - Condemnation 5 Building Repairs <br />The following is a •-hronological list of what happened on the above <br />subject property. <br />May 2, 1982 - an inspection was conducted to see if buildings should be <br />condem.ied (slip enclosed) <br />May 5, 1982 - Police .eport - criminal dama(-,! to property. Abandoned <br />house being used by young adults. <br />..ay 10, 1982 - Mr. Charles Henke came into my office askinc about the <br />property and what he could do with it. I explained that <br />the stru:ture was going to be coneemned and that the <br />structure would have to'be brought up to code. He then <br />asked if he could make it livable for the winter and <br />remove iL and build a new house ;he following summer. I <br />told hi', that his might be possible and that an inspection <br />wou1,' De needed. We scheduled an inspection for the following <br />day. <br />May 11., 1982 - An inspection was conducted on the site to see what would <br />have to be done to make the structure livable for about a <br />year. <br />1) The finish ceding was cardboard. This would need <br />changing as it would be a fire hazard. <br />2) Electric - must be upgraded. <br />3) Insulation and sheetrock walls and ceiling. Energy <br />conservation. <br />4) A bathroom would be required with water closet, lavator;, <br />and bathtub or shower. <br />5) Kitchen facilities are required. <br />6) New roof as there are three layers and c,)uld be leaking. <br />
