AGENDA ITEM <br />Date: October 13, 2025 <br />Title: Gillespie Center Services Agreement <br />Presenter: Maggie Jin, Finance Director <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br />Item: 5 <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this council item is to update the agreement with the Gillespie Center and increase <br />the support amount. <br />2. Background: <br />The Gillespie Center, a community and senior center, is located in Mound and serves residents <br />from the many surrounding cities, including Orono. At the August 11, 2025 Council Meeting, <br />Director Rhonda Nelson provided an update on the Gillespie Center, including programs, services, <br />fundraising, and upcoming events. Orono paid $12,000 in 2025 to the Gillespie Center to help <br />fund programs that are provided to Orono residents. Attached is an updated agreement with the <br />contribution amount increased to $13,000 per year. <br />3. Cost: <br />The annual contribution amount of $13,000 is included in the 2026 budget. <br />4. Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approving the service agreement with the Gillespie Center. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to approve the Agreement for Services between the Gillespie Center and the City of Orono. <br />Exhibits <br />A.
