Approved by Orono School Board - August 13, 1984 <br />RESOLUTION RELATING TO INCREASING <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT LEVIES FOR <br />GENERAL AND SPECIAL SCHOOL PURPOSES <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Orono Independent School District <br />No. 278 as follows: <br />1. It is necessary and expedient for the School District to increase <br />its levy for general and special school purposes in an amount equal <br />to 4 1/2 sills times the taxable valuation of the District which <br />will raise in the first year $496,665; such increased mill levy to be <br />added to the amount of mills permitted by Minnesota Statutes Section <br />275.125, Subd. 2a, which additional milloge shall be permitted <br />year thereafter unless otherwise revoke] as provided by law. <br />2. The question of increasing the mill levy for general and spot — <br />school purposes shall be submitted to the qualified electors of this <br />District at a special election, which is hereby called and directed. <br />to be held on Tuesday the 9th day of October, 1984, between the hours <br />of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. <br />3. The v:ting precincts for said election, and th* polling places within <br />the respective precincts, shall be those established by Board <br />resolution adopted July 12, 1971 and which have at all times since <br />been used for all School District elections. <br />4. The Clerk is hereby author! -4 and directed to cause notice of said <br />election to be posted at no i than three public and conspicuos.s <br />places within the District, including one notice to be posted at each <br />Of said polling places, at least ten days before the date of said <br />election, and to cause said notice to be published in the PIONEER, <br />at least one week before the election, said newspaper being the <br />official newspaper of the District. The notice so posted and <br />published shall state the question to be submitted to the electors as <br />set forth in the form of ballot below, and shall include the <br />description of each established precinct and polling place. <br />S. The Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause printed ballots <br />to be prepared for use at said election in si-.bstantially the <br />follow;ng fors on the front of the ballot: <br />
