unload and properly protect all such materials from damage or loss. The <br />Contractor shall be responsible for material loss or damage after receipt of <br />materials at the point of delivery. <br />7.3 STORAGE OF MATERIALS <br />Matetial.s shall be so stored by the Contractor as to insure the preservation <br />of their quality and fitness for the Work. When considered necessary, they <br />shall be placed on wooden platforms or other hard, clean surfaces, and/or they <br />shall be placed under cover and not on the ground. Stored materials shall be <br />located so as to facilitate prompt inspection. Private property shall not be <br />used for storage purposes without the written permission of the Owner or <br />lessee thereof. <br />7.4 OBSFRVATION OF WORK <br />All materials and equipment and each part or detail of the Work shall be <br />subject at all times to observation by the Engineer and the Owner, and the <br />Contractor will be responsible for strict adherence o the true intent of the <br />Specifications in regard to quality of materia's, workmanship, and the <br />diligent execution of the Work. Such observations :aaJ include m4.11, plant, or <br />shop inspection, and any material furnished under these Specifications is <br />subject to such observation. The Engineer shall be allowed access to all <br />parts of the Work and shall be furnished with such information and assistance <br />by the Contractor as is required to make his observations and construction <br />review. <br />7.5 CONTRACTOR'S SUPERINTENDENCE AND WORKERS <br />7.5.1 A competent superintendent, who is acceptable to the Owner, shall <br />be maintained on the Work site and give efficient supervision to the Work <br />until its completion. The superintendent shall have full authority to act <br />on behalf of the Contractor, and all communications given to the <br />superintendent shall be as binding as if given to the Contractor. <br />Important communications shall be confirmed by the Engineer in writing. <br />Other communications shall be so confirmed upon written request of the <br />Contractor. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor's <br />superintendent to coordinate the work of all the Subcontractors. When <br />required, the superintendent shall be present on the site to perform <br />adequate supervision and cooTd'_nation. <br />7.5.2 Contractor shall provide competent, suitably qualified personnel to <br />survey and lay out the Work and perform construction as required by the <br />Contract Docume•its. Contractor shall at all times maintain good <br />discipline and order at the site. <br />7.5.3 The Contractor shall at all times be responsible for the conduct <br />and discipline of his employees and/or any Subcontractors. All workmen <br />must have sufficient knowledge, skill and experience to perform properly <br />the work assigned to them.
