DESCRIPTION: Provide all labor, materials, equipment and services <br />and perform all operations required for complete installation of all carpen- <br />try, millwork and related work as shown on the d* or specified herein. <br />06000.2. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Comply with pertiner, :ovisions of the follow- <br />ing standards and codes: <br />(a) National Design Specification for Wood Construction, by National <br />Forest Products Association. <br />(b) Standard Grading Rules for Western Lumber, by Western Wood Products <br />Association. <br />(c) Standard Grading and Dressing Rules, by West Coast Lumber inspection <br />Bureau. <br />(d) American Softwood Lumber Standard, Voluntary Product Standard PS <br />20-70, National Bureau of Standards, U.S. Department of Commerce. <br />(e) Structural Glued - Laminated Timber, Voluntary Product Standard <br />PS56-70, National Bureau of Standards, U.S. Department of Commerce. <br />(f) Timber Construction Standards, American Institute of Timber <br />Construction. <br />(g) U.S. Product Standard PS 1-74 for Construction and Industrial <br />Plywood, National Bureau of Standards, [}.S. Department of Commerce. <br />(h) Plywood Design Specification, American Plywood Association. <br />(i) Manual of Recommended Practices for Wood Preservation, American. Wood <br />Preservers Association. <br />06000.3. PRODUCT HANDLING: Store lumber so it is properly ventilated; held <br />straight; well -drained; protected from the elements; supported at points not <br />over 4 feet apart with bottoms of piles and trusses at least 1-1/2" above <br />basic support, i.e., ground, concrete, wood floors, etc. <br />06000.4. GRADE. STAMPS: Identify all lumber by the grade stamp of the West <br />Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau or the Western Woods Product Association. <br />Identify all plywood as to species, grade and glue type by the stamp of the <br />American Plywood Association. <br />Identify all other materials by the appropriate stan.p of the agency listed in <br />section 06000.2. <br />06000.5. MATERIALS: <br />06000.5.1. Lumber: Lumber for miscellaneous cants anu blocking construction <br />n shall be surfaced four sides unless , . iuireo and identified by offi- <br />cial grade -mark.
