TO:Mayor Peterson and Council Members <br />FROM: Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br />DATE:Match 2.2004 <br />SUBJECT: LcgislatioB Regarding Tax and Spending Limits for State and Local Governments <br />Attached is information from the League of Cities regarding legislation that would place major <br />restrictions on the ability of both the State and the local govenunents to raise taxes and expenditures. <br />This would be a major loss of local control for cities. Also attached is a resolution in opposition to this <br />legislation. I would like to bring this resolution to the March 8 Council meeting for adoption
