<br />Appointed Kay Sause as representative to the
<br />°CSU advisory groups.
<br />pproved the new class offerings for the Early
<br />Childhood Family Education program.
<br />Authorized administration to proceed with the
<br />planning and implementation of a 1989 summer
<br />school program.
<br />Approved the following variance requests:

<br />and Nicole Fisher, grade 5, to attend Orono
<br />Schools; John Murphy, grade 8. Amber Murphy,
<br />grade 6, Lindsay Murphy, grade 4, and Morgan
<br />Murphy, grade 2, to attend Orono Schools.
<br />Approved the coaches for fall sports.
<br />Approved the appointment of Lynne C. Bryant as
<br />high school business education computer clerk.
<br />Approved the development and distribution of
<br />the Annual Report in ac:ordance with the pro-
<br />visions of t:ie P.E.R.law.
<br />Declared its intention to develop projects which
<br />expand and improve the educational programs of
<br />the District, and said Board authorized Dr. Thomas
<br />B. Mich, Superintendent of Schools or his designee,
<br />to execute and file application for and in behalf
<br />of the school district, and otherwise to act as
<br />its authorized representative in state and
<br />federally funded programs and that the Board
<br />declared its intention to comply with all of the
<br />requirements set forth in the "Applicant State-
<br />ment of Assurances".
<br />Authorized the call for bids on removal and
<br />replacement of underground oil tanks at the
<br />Orono Senior High School and Orono Primary School
<br />sites.
<br />Directed the Clerk of the Board to certify allow-
<br />able levies, as calculated by the Minnesota
<br />Department of Education, to Hennepin County on
<br />or before October 23, 1988.
<br />ELEMENTARY TEA"H::R PARTICIPATES
<br />IS SCIENCE GRANT TRAINING
<br />Mike Preble, second grade teacher at Schumann
<br />Elementary School, has been accepted as a
<br />participant in a Title lI Federally Funded
<br />Elementary Science Teacher Improvement Project.
<br />He is one of 15 teachers of grades 2 - 3 from the
<br />Twin Cities area to be accepted into this pr am.
<br />tie will attend Monday evening .losses from now until
<br />March. In order to be a part of this program he
<br />must share the science activities and strategies
<br />learned in the class, plus the materials used in
<br />the class, with his colleagues here at Orono.
