ORDINANCE NUMBER 16, SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING TO THE DANGEROUS WEAPONS AND ARTICLES <br />SECTIONS OF THE ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE <br />The City Council of Orono Ordains As Follows: <br />Chapter 9 of the Municipal Code of Orono is hereby <br />amended by adding to Section 9.10, Subd 1, (I) to read as <br />follows: <br />Sec.9.10. DANGEROUS WEAPONS AND ARTICLES <br />I. Possess, carry, transport, or control any <br />knife or bladed instrument capable of cutting, stabbing <br />or injuring while on school property, in a school bus, <br />or on public streets or sidewalks adjacent thereto <br />except where such knives and bladed instruments are used <br />in or as part of any instructional activity carried on in <br />the school, used in the preparation or consumption of <br />food in a lunchroom, or other place where food is custom- <br />arily prepared or served, or when used as a tool by a <br />person authorized to perform construction, repair or <br />maintenance services on school property. <br />This ordinance shall be effective upon adopt iin and <br />publication. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono on this 28th day of <br />October, 1985, by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Mary C. er, Mayor <br />V <br />
