b. Step Two. The Department Head will discuss the grievance <br />with the employee and give a written decision within ten <br />(10) days of receipt of the written statement. If the <br />employee is not satisfied with the Department Head's <br />decision, the employee may request a meeting with the <br />City Administrator. The grievance to the Administrator <br />shall be submitted in writing by the employee and signed <br />within ten (10) days following the response or passage of <br />the Department Heads's response deadline. <br />C. Step Three. The City 'Administrator shall explore the <br />nature of the grievance and discuss all relevant <br />circumstances with the employee. The City Administrator <br />shall give a decision in writing within fifteen (15) days <br />of receipt of the written statement of grievance as to <br />whether or not any action will be taken in response to <br />the employee's grievance. <br />209. DISCIPLINARY ACTION <br />1. The method of and procedures for disciplinary action shall be <br />determined by the City Administrator, subject to approval by the <br />City Council if the action involves suspension or termination. <br />2. Employees may be disciplined in the form of: <br />a. Oral reprimand <br />b. Written reprimand <br />C. Suspensions with or without pay <br />d. Demotion <br />e. Transfer <br />f. Discharge <br />3. In all cases of suspension, transfer, demotion, or dism sal, <br />the reasons for such action must be presented in a dated, written <br />statement to the employee affected as soon as practicable after <br />the action has taken place. <br />4. An employee may request a meeting with the City Administrator <br />to discuss any disciplinary action taken against the employee. <br />The employee must submit the request in writing and state the <br />grounds for the request. The City Administrator shall meet with <br />the employee within ten (10) days of receipt of the written <br />request. <br />5. Cause for disciplinary action including reprimand, <br />suspension, demotion or dismissal shall include but not be limited <br />to any of the following: <br />
