CITY of ORONO
foot Wfivr Il.-s to)OCr}str. Bay, M►nnenuto S5all*Municipml Officer
On the North Shure of Lake tlhnnetunka
June 24, 1981
Mr. Paul W. Smith
2477 Dunwoody Avenue
Wayzata, Mn. 55391
RE: Sewer Connection
Dear Mr. Smith,
I'm glad I had a chance to sleet and talk with you and your
wife this morning. I hope we can all work together to finally
get the sewer to your property. Let me relate the project
history according to my records.
The sewer-'roject. was begun in 1963 with ser:,ice to Dunwoody
Avenue properties installed about 19A7. Your property was
assessed for tron', line availability only. It has never been
assessed for 1a'_;'al sewer or for a sewer "unit" charge normally
assessed against habitable dwellings. The grand total of your
assessment was originally $9.90 compated on the basis of .09
ages of lot area. Annual principal payments have been .66C.
A service stub is available on Dunwoody Avenue which is the
c'iblic right of way nearest your Land -locked -parcel. Lateral
sewer was not assessed because it was your responsibility to
construct the line to the availabl_• stub.
At this time there are tw^ oD_tions for connecting your property
to sewer:
1) You could obtain an easement from your neighbor
and hire a Drivate contractor to install the en-
tire system. As has been the practice in your
project area, the City would reimburse you the
purchase cost of the required pump, but not the
installation costs. Hookup charges would be
$225 "unit" charge, a $425 SAC charge as —quired
by Metro waste Control, and a $20.50 permit fee.
No lateral assessment would be made. This i.s by
far your least expensive, quickest alternative.
Ot It LUI%t: A lu%h(. 471.7 f5' 0 Au%imISTRATI(Ih A ♦M AWE - 47) 7)S4 0 Yl IILK HUKA1 ♦' 1 ' _'
