MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD OCTOBER 21, 1985. PAGE: 9 <br />1977 WERNER continued <br />The purpose of the public hearinq was to consider the request <br />for side setback, average setback, and hardcover variances <br />to construct additions to front and rear of house. <br />Sime qu,stioned how this property was allowed to reach its <br />existing perc(ntages of hardcover. <br />Assistant 'Lon nq Administrator Gaffron showed background <br />dOCU-mentation dating back to 1977 to its present existing <br />status. He further explained the current request for <br />variances to build two additions. <br />Rovegno stated that additions amounting to an additional158 <br />s. f . should bo traded of with removal of existing hardcover. <br />Goetten felt that no increase in hardcover should be made. <br />Kelley agreed that there should be no additional hardcover <br />and also no encroachment into the average setback. <br />Jim Werner waE present for this matter and stated that <br />possible trade-offs of hardcover ceuld be made by removing <br />the rock beds and perhaps the cement slab which currently <br />supports the steps. <br />McDonald stated the drainage on the property was adequate <br />enough to prevent run-off into the lake. <br />-here were no persons present objecting and the public <br />hearing was closed. <br />It was moved by Gcetten, seconded by Sime, to recommend <br />approval of the proposed side and average setback variances, <br />a hardcover variance of 36.5% wit.i no increase (staff and <br />applicant to work on this), and subject to no additional <br />variances being granted to this property. Motion, Ayes 6, <br />Nays 0. <br />#978 MICHAEL McENANY <br />2497 — 2503 KELLY AVYNUF <br />VARIANCE <br />PUBLIC HEARING 10:11 - 10:26 <br />The certificate of mailing and affidavit of publicationwas <br />noted. <br />The purpose of she public hearing was to consider the request <br />for a variance to construct a detached garage on Outlot A of <br />"Kelly Cove", which is a lot without a r• incipal structure, <br />for the purpose of hous.inq the Ass-)ciation's lawn <br />maintenance equipmt,nt . <br />Michael McEnany was present for this matter and stated they <br />presently have to store the lawn maintenance equipment in <br />someone's garage which means they can't use the garages for <br />their cars and must park outside which makes snow removal <br />difficult. Her noted that they propose a 2-112 car garage to <br />store the lawn maintenance equipment and 2 cars. <br />
