4Ttlpl(,-"-T <br />A <br />ORDINANCE NUMBER , SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9.12 SUBDIVISION 2 ADOPTED <br />APRIL 1, 1984, AND ENTITLED "DOG REGULATION AND LICENSING". <br />The City Council of Orono ordains: <br />Ordinance No. 9.12 Subdivision 2 adopted April 1, 1984, <br />and entitled "Dog Regulation and Licensing" is amended to read: <br />Subd. 2. Running at Large and Biting Dogs Prohibited. <br />It is unlawful for the owner of any dog to permit such animal to <br />run at large. Any dog shall be deemed to be running at large <br />with the permission of the owner unless; <br />A. It is on a durable leash secured to an object <br />which it cannot move and is on the premises of the <br />owner. <br />B. On a leash and under the control or within 10 feet <br />and under the effective command of the accompanying <br />person of SLlitable age and discretion. <br />C. In the owners fenced yard or other suitable <br />enclosure were the dog cannot '.Pave without human <br />assistance. <br />D. In the owners yard and under effective command of <br />an accompanying person of suitable age and discretion <br />present outside in the yard. <br />E. In a vehicle from which the dog cannot leave <br />without human assistance provided it is not left <br />unattended in violation of Minnesota Statutes. <br />Any dog, having bitten a person or other animal, shall be <br />forthwith impounded for the period of incubation. <br />This ordinance becomes effecti., after its passage and <br />publication. <br />Passed by the Council this 22nd day of August, 1988. <br />James R.
