v A <br /> s � <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 187 <br /> AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 63, SECTIOr7S 63. 010, <br /> 63.020, 63.030 and 63.150 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br /> ORONO REQUIRING LICENSES FOR DOGS, ESTABLISHING <br /> LICENSE FEES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR TH� ISSUANCE OF � <br /> DOG LICENSES AND ESTABLISHING FEES AND REQUIREMENTS <br /> FOR THE REDEMPTION OF DOGS. <br /> THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 63 of the Municipal Code of the City <br /> of Orono is amended by amending Sections 63.010, 63. 020, 63.030 <br /> and 63.150 as follows: <br /> Section 63.010. Lot. Any lot for which a deed or <br /> registered land survey has been recorded in the office of the <br /> Registrar of Deeds or the Registrar of Titles for Hennepin Caunty, <br /> Minnesota or comf�ination of lots necessary to meet the minimum <br /> lot area for the Zoning Code for that use district. <br /> Section 63.020. License Required. No person shall own, <br /> harbor or keep a dog over the age of six months unless a current <br /> I.icense for such dog has been obtained as herein provided; except <br /> also that any dog kept for, or by, a blind person and recognized <br /> as a guide or seeing-eye dog shall be exempt from this provision. <br /> The owner of any dog brought into the City of Orono shall immediately <br /> procure a license for such animal. Dog licenses shall be valid <br /> for the whole or unexpired portion of the two-year period ending in - <br /> January Z of the next odd numbered year following the first effective <br /> date of the license. <br /> Section 63.030. License Fees and Requirements. Dog <br /> licenses shall be issued by the City Clerk upon presentation of a <br /> current, valid rabies vaccination certificate and upon payment of <br /> a license fee of $8.00 if issued in an odd numbered year and $4.00 <br /> if issued in an even numbered year. Dogs confaned t� � kennel need' <br /> not be licensed, provided that such kennel is licensed as provided <br /> by Section 63.180. <br /> Section 63.110. Public Nuisance. The keeping of more <br /> than two dogs over the age of six months on any one lot oz combination <br /> of lots necessary to meet the minimum requirement of the Zoning Code <br /> for that use district, except by special permission of the City <br /> Council, shall be deemed a public nuisance and unlawful. The keeping <br /> of a dog or dogs that annoy other persons by barking, howling or <br /> baying between the hours of 10 : 00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. shall be deemed <br /> a public nuisance and unlawful; and upon the written complaint of two <br /> or more neighbors sha11 be abated upon order of the City Council <br /> within 48 hours. <br />
