� , r i' <br /> . 1 <br /> . 6.040 (a) Auxiliary Police Officers. The City Administra- <br /> tor may from time to time appoint auxiliary police officers of <br /> the City of Orono. Such officers shall not be a part of the <br /> regular Police Department and shall not have the authority of <br /> . police officers except �in cases of emergency as hereinafter <br /> provided. They shall receive no compensation from the City <br /> and shall not be deemed employees of the City. <br /> 6. 040 (b) Method of Appointment. No auxiliary police <br /> officer may be appointed unless a written application contain- <br /> ing such information as the Chief of Police shall require is <br /> filed with the Chief. Upon appointment of an auxiliary <br /> officer, the City Clerk-Administrator shall issue a commission <br /> to him setting forth all conditions of his appointment and <br /> the term for which he is appointed. The commission and appoint- <br /> ment of each auxiliary police officer shall be reported to the <br /> City Council at its next meeting. The commission and appointment � <br /> shall be subject to revocation with or without cause by the • <br /> City Clerk-Administrator at any time. � <br /> 6. 040 (c) Duties. Except in cases of declared civil <br /> emergencies as provided for in Chapter 90 through 93 of this <br /> Code, such auxiliary officers shall obey the instructions of <br /> the Chief of Police and shall 'perform such cluties and training <br /> exercises as shall be established by the Chief. In cases of <br /> declared civil emergencies as provided for in Chapter 90 through <br /> 93 of this Code, such auxiliary officers shall obey the instruc- <br /> tions of the Director�of �Civil Eme""rgencies iri- accordance with <br /> the applicable civil emergency plans and provisions. ' <br /> Section 2.
