The <br /> Chief of Police shall remit the proceeds of the auc- <br /> tion sale to the City Treasurer for deposit in the <br /> General Fund. Any property offered for sale but not <br /> sold and not suitable for appropriation to the use of <br /> the� City shall be deemed worthless and shall be <br /> disposed of in such manner as the Chief of Police <br /> directs. <br /> {h) Claim by Owner After Auction. The lawful owner <br /> of property sold at auction shall , upon application <br /> to the City Clerk within six (6) months from the <br /> date of sale and upon delivery of satisfactory proof <br /> of ownership, be paid the sale price from the General <br /> Fund, less the reasonable expenses incurred in the <br /> movement, storage, care and sale of such property. <br /> 112.20. Confiscated Property. Any money or personal <br /> property, other than animals , coming into the possession of <br /> the City Police Department in the course of investigating or <br /> prosecuting any criminal offenses or ordinance violations shall <br /> be handled and disposed of in the manner provided in Section <br /> 112, 10 hereof, except that the six (6) month custody period <br /> shall not begin to run until such time as any prosecution and <br /> appeal proceedings shall have been completed for any criminal <br /> offense or ordinance violation involving such personal property <br /> or money. <br /> 112. 30. Unclaimed Motor Vehicles. Any unclaimed motor <br /> vehicles as such vehicles are clefined �by Minnesota Statutes, <br /> Chapter 169 as amended coming into the possession of the City <br /> of Orono in the course of any municipal operations shall be <br /> handled and disposed of in the manner provided in section <br /> 112. 10 hereof, with the following exceptions : <br /> (a) Custody of Unclaimed Mctor Vehicles. The Chief <br /> of Police shall arrange for the storage of unclaimed <br /> or abandoned motor vehicles in a safe place for a <br /> period ot only sixty (60) days unless claimed by <br /> the lawful owner. <br />
