� <br /> 5) Outhouses shall be located at least 75 feet from any <br /> lakeshore, wetland , or water well , and at an elevation such <br /> that the bottom of the pit is at least five (5) feet above the <br /> level of the lakeshore and/or the level of any adjacent <br /> wetland or drainageway. <br /> 5) Existing outhouses not conforming to any or all of the <br /> above requirements shall be abandoned , filled-in and the <br /> superstructure removed within five (5) years of the <br /> adoption of this ordinance, not to be Iater than January 1 , <br /> 1988. <br /> 7) No person shall construct, install or relocate an <br /> outhouse without first obtaining a permit from the City <br /> pursuant to Section 22. 3PJ Subd . 4, except that outhouse <br /> permits may be issued to the property owner as well as to <br /> licensed contractors. Permit applications shall specify <br /> location, setbacks , pit desiqn and pit elevation above the <br /> water table. All work on outhouses including con- <br /> struction, installation, alteration or relocation shall be <br /> subject to inspection and approval by the City Building <br /> Official or On-Site Manager to insure compliance with the <br /> requirements setforth herein, includinq without limita- <br /> tion properdesign, construction, sanitary setbacks , depth <br /> to water table and soil types. <br /> c) Alternative Waste Treatment Devices are permitted in <br /> lieu of an outhouse on any property where outhouses are permitted <br /> pursuant to Subsection (b) above, or where otherwise necessary to <br /> provide toilet waste disposal for an existing dwelling where a <br /> conforming outhouse or on-site sewaqe treatment system cannot be <br /> installed . Such devices shall include incinerating devices , <br /> composting devices or small portable holding-tank toilets which are <br /> carried to the mainland for disposal in a sanitary sewer system. <br /> Alternative systems shall be subject to review and approval by the City <br /> Engineer or On-Site Systems Manaqer . <br /> d) On-Site Sewage Treatments Systems Required. A <br /> complete on-sitesewagetreatmentsystem including plumbing fixtures , <br /> two sealed septic tanks and underground drainfield designed , <br /> constructed and maintained in full conformance with the On-Site Sewage <br /> Treatment Code is required on all prqperties in the "RS" District as <br /> follows: <br /> 1) Serving all struc�ures contuining a principal <br /> dwellinq pursuant to Section 34.363 (a) . <br /> , 2) Serving all properties containing two (2) or more <br /> dwellings pursuanttoa private guestcabinconditional <br /> use permit, Section 34. �63 (b) . <br /> 3) Serving all sA?sonal �welliriqs over 8�1�1 square feet <br /> in floor area . <br /> -23- <br />
