Ordinance No. 223 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 19. 203 Definitions Wherever the following words or terms are used <br /> in this Ordinance, the Fire Code or the Fire Marshal Division <br /> alterations and amendments, they shall have the following meanings: <br /> a) Building Official - The individual certified by the State <br /> and appointed by the City Council to administer and <br /> enforce the State Building Code within the City of Orono. <br /> b) G'hief - The Chief of the Fire Department which has <br /> contractual jurisdiction in each respective Fire Service <br /> District, or his authorized representative, except that <br /> for purposes of enforcement of this Ordinance, the term <br /> "Chief" shall also include those persons listed in <br /> Section 19. 204 below. <br /> c) Corporation Council - The Attorney for the City of Orono. <br /> d) Jurisdiction or Municipality - The City of Orono as a whole. <br /> Jurisdiction shall also mean that part of the City of Orono <br /> corresponding to each separate Fire Service District. <br /> 19. 204 Enforcement The provisions of this Ordinance and the Fire <br /> Code shall be enforced within the corporate limits of the City of <br /> Orono. Authority for said enforcement is hereby granted to and <br /> may be exercised by any or all of' the following persons, except where <br /> such authority is reserved by State Statute as the sole responsibility <br /> of the State Fire Marshal. <br /> a) �The Minnesota State Fire Marshal, or his authorized <br /> re�resentative. _ <br /> b) The Chief of each Fire Department, or his authorized <br /> representative, within the Fire Service District of said <br /> Fire Department. The Fire Chief shall retain primary <br /> responsibility and authority for determining response <br /> to fire calls and for fire scene command. <br /> c) The Chief of the Orono Police Department or his officers. <br /> The Police Chief shall be responsible for coordinating <br /> enforcement policy and activities between the respective <br /> Fire Service Districts and between the Fire Chiefs and the <br /> Building Official. <br />
