. , <br /> � � <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 221 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br /> CODE OF ORONO RELATING TO WATER WELL CONSTRUCTION: <br /> REGULATIONS AND AD(}PTION OF CODE <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br /> Section 1. The Municipal Code of the City of Orono is <br /> amended by amending Chapter 23 to read as follows : <br /> 23.010 Definitions For the purposes of this Chapter, <br /> the terms defined in this Section have the following meanings : <br /> , <br /> A. "Water Supply System" includes the well, casing, <br /> screen, pump, pressure tank, all piping and wiring up <br /> to the pressure tank outlet. <br /> B. "Water Well Contractor" or "Contractor" means a <br /> qualified well driller licensed with the State of <br /> Minnesota and the City of Orono. <br /> C. "Existing Well" includes any well regardless of <br /> depth or diameter, whether in use or not, that has not <br /> been abandoned properly. � <br /> D. "New Well" is a well for which a new hole is bored, <br /> drilled, etc. (as opposed to repairing an existing well) . <br /> 23.42Q Ob i ectives The ob j ectives of this Chapter are to <br /> provide minimum standards for the safe and adequate construction of <br /> water wells, and to prevent the contamination of any existing or <br /> future water supply through adequa te planning, construction, and <br /> inspection. � <br /> 23.030 Adoption of Code The Minnesota State Board of Health <br /> Water Well Construction Code (Minn. Reg. MHD 210 and MHD 217-230 with <br /> subsequent amendments) 1974 Edition is hereby adopted by reference and <br /> made a part of this Chapter as if fully set forth herein. The City <br /> Administrator shall mark three copies of this Code as official copies <br /> and keep them in his office for use and examination. <br />
