` .. <br /> . , � <br /> Ordinance No. 199 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 69A OF THE MUNICIPAL <br /> ' CODE OF THE CITY OF ORONO RELATING TO THE LICENSING <br /> AND REGULATION OF PUBLIC SKI AREAS <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br /> Section 1 : The P4unicipal Code of the City of Orono <br /> is amended by amending sections 69A. 020, 69A.030, 69A. 040, <br /> 69A. 050, 69A. 060, 69A. 070, 69A.080, 69A.110 and adding <br /> sections 69A. 001, and 69 . 025 to read: <br /> 69A.001 Scope. This ordinance provides for the licens- <br /> ing and regulation of public ski areas and is adopted for the <br /> purpose of protecting the health, safety and general welfare <br /> of the citizens of the City of Orono. <br /> 69A. 020. License Required. No person shall keep, <br /> offer for use, maintain or operate a ski area within the <br /> City without being licensed under this chapter. No ski <br /> area may be offered for use or operated within the City <br /> without a current operating permit as required by this <br /> chapter. <br /> 69A. 025. Operating Permit Required. Upon approval <br /> of a Ski Area License by Council, and completion of any <br /> conditions attached thereto, the applicant shall submit a <br /> certificate of insurance and pay a permit fee to the City <br /> Clerk and obtain a Ski Area Operation Permit. The permit <br /> fee shall be as est�ablished by the current City fee schedule <br /> to pay for the costs incurred in issuing said permit and <br /> shall also include the costs incurred by the City in pro- <br /> viding the required annual safety inspection. <br /> 69A.030. Application and Issuance of License. Any <br /> person may apply .in writing to the City Clerk for a license <br /> and operating permit under this chapter by completing and <br /> signing an application form provided by the City and by <br /> providing the following information each year. <br /> (a) A plot plan, drawn to scale, indicating the <br /> boundaries of the ski area and the location of all structures , <br /> lighting towers, ski runs, safety equipment or devices, park- <br /> ing areas and access points. The drawing shall be updated <br /> each year to show all existing facilities, all changes from <br /> the previous season, and any changes proposed for the dura- <br /> tion of the current application. <br />
