An extensive beaching area is also <br />available to the west of the site of the present dock. <br />i. Boat storage of camp boats during the summer months will be in <br />permanent slips, or in case of fishing boats, beached west of <br />the existing dock site. Winter storage will be dry stacking <br />near the beach with larger boats, such as the pontoon, beached <br />at the dock area. <br />j. Proposed overnight camping density for workers accomplishing <br />activities is fifty-seven (57). Proposed density for day <br />camping during 1988 is one hundred fifty (150) with one hundred <br />(100) allowed for overnight tent camping. Events involving <br />large numbers of attendees (eg. 500) would be subject to a <br />separate request for an event permit. <br />k. A license will be required to allow for sale of soft drinks <br />and other like packaged goods by the caretaker. <br />Site Plan Narrative <br />Cleanup and renovation activities will cover most of the Island, <br />however, near -term day and tent camping will be focused on the <br />Point Charming area. Renovation and refurbishment of existing <br />latrines at Point Charming and the Peanut Row area are a key <br />priority. <br />Tent areas of approved design and layout will be established <br />at Point Charming. <br />The beach area utilized for Point Charming would be the beach <br />directly east of Point Charming. <br />The overnight cabin accomodation in this phase will bo thu <br />caretaker's cabin. <br />Picnic and cooking activities will be centralized at Point <br />Charming in this phase. <br />Docks will be constructed in the current location subject to <br />Orono and CMCD approval. <br />No specific formal recreational areas will be designated in <br />this phase. <br />Latrines at Point Charming and Peanut Row will be renovated <br />serially with a minimum of one required to be operational for <br />camp opening. <br />6 V.
