A RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCES <br />TO MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.25, SUBDIVISION 6 (B) <br />FILE NO. 1904 <br />WHEREAS, Eric and Shelly Liljequist (hereinafter "the applicants") are the <br />owners of the property located at 3490 Birch Lane within the City of Orono and legally <br />described as follows: <br />Lot 2, Block 1, Baldur Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the <br />property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for variances to Municipal <br />Zoning Code Section 10.25, Subdivision 6 (B) to permit construction of a 34' x 34' residence <br />on a property that consists of 13,894 s.f. or .32 acres in area and where 21,780 s.f. or .5 acres <br />is required and a lot width variance as property measures 43' at the 929 .4 or Ordinary High <br />Water elevation of Lake Minnetonka and 60' at the 75' setback where a 100' width is required. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1904. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-lC Lakeshore Residential Zoning District <br />requiring 21,780 s.f. or one-half acre in area. The property consists of 13,894 <br />s.f. or .32 acres. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on February 22, 1994 <br />and recommended unanimous approval of the proposed variances based upon the <br />following findings: <br />A. Applicants seek only lot area and lot width variances for the proposed <br />construction of a new residence. <br />B. A residence has existed on this property for over 50 years. <br />Page 1 of 4
